Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Cash Discount program work?
Card-paying customers are charged a 3.5% surcharge at checkout — the same surcharge that would normally be your processing fee. Cash-paying customers get the listed price. The net effect: your processing costs are covered by the customers who choose to pay with cards, and you pay $0 for both software and processing.
What does “Interchange + 45 basis points” mean?
Interchange is the wholesale cost the card networks (Visa, Mastercard, etc.) charge — it varies by card type but typically lands around 1.5–2.5%. “+ 45 basis points” is our markup on top of that wholesale cost. So a typical transaction might cost you ~2.0–2.95% total, with full transparency on what’s the network’s cost vs. what’s our markup. No flat fees per transaction.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — both paid plans come with a 14-day free trial. No credit card required to get started. The Cash Discount Program plan is always free.
Can I switch plans later?
Absolutely. You can switch between all three plans at any time. If you move to our Cash Discount Program, your monthly fee drops to zero.
Are there any setup fees?
None. You can be up and running in minutes with zero upfront costs on any plan.
What hardware do I need?
Vinty POS runs in the browser, so any modern computer, tablet, or iPad works. We support Dymo and Rollo label printers, and standard receipt printers.
Do all three plans have the same features?
Yes — every feature is included in every plan. The only difference is how you handle card processing.
Is my data secure?
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We use Supabase (built on PostgreSQL) with row-level security and role-based access controls.
